Bunker Hill Stables is to us a piece of agricultural paradise.  We intend to preserve the nature of the land and share it with others so that they may experience the aesthetic wonder of this rural horse haven.  That said… Bunker Hill Stables, located at the Great Meadow of New Boston, New Hampshire, was formerly the Great Meadow Farm, operating as a dairy.  New Hampshire dairy farmers met many challenges over the years, and many have ceased dairy operations in New Hampshire. After it’s cessation as a dairy farm, Great Meadow Farm went through downsizing, and several operational transitions.  One of which was a buffalo farm, another was geared to the production and sales of hay, as well as equine sales. We were very fortunate to have found what is to us our little piece of paradise.  Over time, our great love and appreciation for Equines, coupled with our desire to preserve the rural integrity of our land, brought us to the realization that blessings can often be mixed.  We thought, why not have the best of both worlds, mix business with pleasure, and share our dream with other Equine Lovers/Enthusiasts?  Hence, the birth of Bunker Hill Stables.   We, here at Bunker Hill Stables, are dedicated to giving horses a loving home, and a central place to begin the many adventures they will embark upon with their people.   Primary focus for Horses is placed upon Exceptional Care, Monitoring, Health, Safety, and Security. We send all of our clients home with a nice puppy package that includes a crate (as we do highly recommend crate training until your puppy is out of the potty training/chewing stages for their own safety), a full size bag of food (we only feed our dogs the best food- Orijen or Merrick though there are several other wonderful brands we can recommend to you), toys and treats, harness and leash, bowls, blanket and bed and other goodies. We want you and your puppy to have the best start possible and we do our best to make your experience with us a wonderful and memorable one. 2009 was the year we brought our first French Bulldog home, and we can never express the joy that has come from it. We knew we had found the breed for our home and family, and not a single day has gone by that these wonderful dogs haven’t made us laugh. Once we decided to become breeders ourselves we were lucky enough to welcome a gorgeous Blue Brindle stud from Russia into our family. Not only was he our first step into an amazing adventure, but he also carries the black and tan gene and is the sire of the first blue and tan stud born here in the U.S.A., Beast. Because our dogs are family we believe in feeding them the very best which is why we prepare all of their food on site and feed a RAW meat diet with yogurt, pumpkin and vitamin supplements. Feeding our dogs the healthiest food is only part of the process, however. We are a family that puts passion in all that we do!   We live on 20 acres with a small hobby farm that includes chickens, ducks, a couple horses, and lots of room to run! All our animals get top quality care, and plenty of attention time. We are a family of 7, with 5 daughters that enjoy taking the dogs out for a game of fetch or snuggling up on the couch, our dogs are with us as much as possible!   We will never breed more then we can take back. Every puppy that leaves our home, will always have a place in our home!   All of our dogs are kept inside with the family at all times. If we go to a dog friendly store, then we take them with us! We spend tons of time with our companions and socialize them with human and other species creating well adjusted, and confident dogs with proper manners. We do kennel our dogs when we leave and at bedtime. This ensures their safety, and our peace of mind, knowing they aren’t able to ingest or destroy things they shouldn’t. With me not working outside of the home, they get very little kennel time! Each pairing is hand picked with an emphasis on health, temperament, and confirmation! We always evaluate each dog prior to mating, we aren’t here to pop puppies out, our adults health and well-being are our top priority! We do not attempt to self-whelp here, it’s not a risk we are willing to take. With our track record of big healthy puppies we trust our veterinarian to provide a safe entry into this world via c-section, and we are both present for the birth of each and every puppy! We provide around the clock care, and do not leave the side of our mothers nor babies for the first week with weigh ins 1-2 times a day to ensure they are getting all that they need to thrive. They are reared at the foot of our bed until 3-4 weeks. At 3-4 weeks they are moved to the middle of the front room to become accustomed to day to day activity in a normal household until the day they leave. This helps desensitize them to noise, and we get to enjoy their antics! At 2 weeks of age we start deworming, and continue weekly until they leave. They get their first vaccinations and well check up by a licensed veterinarian at 6 weeks, and then another at 8 weeks prior to going home.
